Read Eph. 4:16

The members must first be taught. Who is to do this teaching in the local church?

What’s the main purpose of their teaching? It is to equip the saints.

What are some things members need to be equipped for?

Seeking and saving the lost.
Growing to spiritual maturity.
Growing up in every way like Jesus.
To be an example of the love of Jesus.

Remember the local church’s goal is to help each member grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Read II Timothy 3:14-4:2

This knowledge of Jesus Christ is found in God’s word, the Bible.

Notice: It thoroughly furnishes us with everything we need to grow to spiritual maturity.

This is how the local church draws the world to Jesus Christ by teaching them about the knowledge of Jesus Christ and it begins by every member growing individually in the knowledge of the son of God
