Lose Your Gifts, or You Will Lose Your Gifts
Read II Timothy 1:1-7.
Here Timothy is preaching in Ephesus and Paul as a father type writes him a letter to encourage him in his preaching. One thing that Paul encourages him to do is something we also need encouragement in today.
Read I Timothy 4:14.
We are not told what the gift is but it was given to him in a miraculous way to help him in the preaching of the gospel. Paul emphasizes to Timothy to keep this gift going.
Read Romans 12:3-8.
What were the gifts that God used in the establishment of the first century church?
Today we also have gifts or abilities from God. These gifts were not received miraculously but we have them and we need to use them regularly in our service to the Lord. If we neglect them and do not use them regularly in our service to the Lord, we will ultimately lose them.
What are your gifts and abilities that you can use to help yourself and others serve the Lord? Make a list of the gifts or abilities that you have right now. Now follow Paul’s advice and do not neglect them.
