Going Back to the Beginning

Sometimes in life, it’s not only good but necessary to go back to where certain things had their beginning. It may be with regards to your family, your work, even your hobbies. God taught us this principle in the first book of the Bible. Genesis means beginning and that’s what God presents to us. So many different beginnings and first mentions of lifetime activities are introduced to us in Genesis .

  1. The beginning of the first man and woman.
  2. The beginning of the first man and wife.
  3. The beginning of the first parents.
  4. The beginning of the first children.
  5. The beginning of God saving people by water.
  6. The beginning of different languages.
  7. The first mention of love.
  8. The first mention of a father offering his son.
  9. The beginning of family jealousy with Joseph.
  10. The beginning of the rainbow as a sign.

There are many more beginnings that are found in this book of beginnings but you get the point. Sometimes in our spiritual struggles we need to also go back to the beginning. We need to go back to the day you became a Christian. We need to go back to our wedding day and the vows we made. We need to go back to the first time we held our newborn baby in our arms.

When faced with Bible questions that come because of the world we live in today, we need to go back to the beginning, to the book of Genesis. We need to go all the way back to the beginning of Genesis which tells us “In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth.” That’s who we are serving and that’s who loves us.
