Room for Jesus?

When one moves from one house to another, they often realize that they do not have enough room in their new house for all of their belongings. When one is planning a vacation, he or she finds they do not have enough room in their suitcase for all the clothes that they want to bring with them. The problem of having no room is a problem that Jesus knows all about.

In Luke 2:7 we read, “And she brought forth her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them at the inn.” If the innkeeper had known who Mary was, and that she was to give birth to the Son of God, he would have undoubtedly made room for them. This story is repeated over and over again today. In our own homes, there is little room for Jesus. Few families take time to study their Bibles together. Jesus is often times never mentioned. Let’s ask ourselves the question, is there room for Jesus in my life? Is there room for Him in my recreation? Is there room for Him in my work? Is there room for Him in my circle of friends?

We all need to know Jesus, what He has done for us, what He wants to do for us, and what He will do. This being the case, will you still find no room for Jesus, even though you know who He is? I am sure that the innkeeper wishes he would have known what you know today.

What will you say? Do you have room for Jesus?
